February 3rd and 4th - The Flamingo Equestrian Center hosted the First Annual International Three Phase Two Day Event Horse Trials. The riders had a great time competing in dressage on Friday afternoon and running across country course Saturday morning finishing with a Stadium Jump course.
Flamingo Equestrian Center Instructor Amanda Gardner prepared the students for their first experience in the world of Eventing. Amanda claims Event Riders are similar to the Skateboarders meaning that this combines the elegance of dressage with the wilder cross country rides and then stadium jumping making it an adrenaline sport.
Suki Flash of Vermont came in to help Amanda prepare the riders for the cross country portion of the show. Suki also held classes at the Center as Guest Instructor. Suki and Amanda designed the courses and set the stage for this fun event.Bob Wyatt also of Vermont was a great assistant in the event. Suki, Amanda and Bob have extensive experience competing in Event Riding in the north east of the USA. We thank them graciously for all they did!
Everyone had fun at this event. The children who competed were wonderful.
